Day 891: Strabane

Laetitia led a tour to Strabane in County Tyrone, Northern Island, on the River Foyle.  One of the highlights of the visit was a sculpture, just outside of town, called “Let the Dance Begin” or “The Tinnies.”  It became the subject of the day’s limerick.

Near Strabane, flute and fiddle play gaily
As metallic forms dance at a ceili
Dawn to dusk; dusk to dawn
While the Foyle just rolls on
Through the land of the hawthorn shillelagh
