Day 194: Fur Stir

On the way to Staples, Minnesota, Laetitia and her group stopped to visit the boyhood home of Sinclair Lewis in Sauk Center and the Kensington Rune Stone Museum in Alexandria. Staples is a town of about 3,000 residents. It is a major rail center and an Amtrak stop. During the walkabout that Laetitia and her group took shortly after arrival, she heard a story about two local residents that provided the limerick of the day.

As Donald Trump told Marla Maples
So Hiram told Bertha from Staples
“I will dress you in furs”
But she soon found that hers
Were from woodchucks rather than sables.
